Welcome

Team 08.jpg

Welcome to this majestic valley where two rivers meet. We are humbled to call it home, and have built it for lovely people like you to retreat to nature.

Immersed
in Nature

Lounge by the natural infinity pool; star gaze from the hot tub; break a sweat in the sauna; sing around the fire pit; experience our guided Sacred Sweat Lodge, rub on locally sourced clay to detoxify your skin before rinsing in the river; read a book on our private beach; explore the Mondego river by stand up paddle board; try the rock jump or a leisurely swim in the creek; practice yoga in the cozy indoor shala or on the panoramic outdoor shala; hike to the nearby waterfall; visit the neolithic dolmen site; treat yourself to a holistic therapy of your choice...

There are so many ways to enjoy Cara Creek Eco Lodge...

Relax

Our swimming pool is chemical-free and kept clean with a sand filter, UV filter, and lush plants. Swim up to it's infinity edge to peak down to the valley and the River Seia which runs along the lower boundary of the property.

WELCOME TO

TRADITIONAL HATHA YOGA

To be a teacher, your own practice needs to take priority. We practice Traditional Hatha Yoga every morning to support your development as a yoga practitioner. Traditional Hatha Yoga is a style of yoga based on the teachings of an ancient text, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

What makes this approach to Traditional Hatha Yoga unique is our Therapeutic approach focusing specifically on strengthening the nervous system. During the practice, the postures are held for an extended period of time to experience a perspective of deep observation and, through consistency, improving the nervous system's resilience and tolerance to stress.

There is no better place to integrate these topics and teachings than being totally off grid in nature. Nature is our biggest support on the training and the ideal setting for this life changing journey as we rest to the sounds of the passing river and wake to the sounds of the birds.

We have a therapeutic approach to teaching and learning, so you're approaching learning through embodied understanding. Daily reflections after morning practice, using compassionate inquiry, are a keystone of the training. We also practice teaching from very early in the course so that by the time week 3 comes, students are confident to teach a full class!

Our Off Grid Yoga School community consists of all alumni from all cohorts who cheer each other on, supporting one another on their yoga practice and teaching journeys. 22 days with your small group of peers and teacher trainers delving deep into ourselves and yoga forms a close bond which students have forever.
